How to get a Graphic Tablet During COVID

Intuos Pro Tablet

A graphics tablet connected to your computer is an absolute requirement to take this class. We have some available to check out, but probably not enough for the entire class. What I need from you all is this:

Email me if you need a tablet and can pick it up from campus by our next class meeting, January 28th. First come, first serve. If you don't email me, or if you do but it's past the number we have available (which I won't know for a while), you will have to get one through other means, most likely you'll have to buy it. If you don't have a graphics tablet, you can't take this class, so there's some risk invovled here. I don't like doing it this way, but I can't think of anything else.

OR

Use Procreate and an Apple iPad with and Apple Pencil. Some of you are already using this, and I'm OK with it. I will try and give some demos on the iPad with Procreate throughout the semester

Buy a graphics tablet. Minimum cost that works for us:
The Huion 420. It is a decent, albeit small, tablet for $19.99. It’s the cheapest workable tablet on the market. The biggest downside is the stylus requires a AAA battery.

My buying advice on purchasing a graphics tablet is purchase the biggest you can afford. The current model that's roughly equivalent to the Intuos tablets we use on campus is about $380. I have spent thousands of dollars on tablets over my career, usually at about $1,000 a pop. I currently am the proud owner of a Wacom Cintiq Pro 32.
