Components

When you get your Cintiq out of the cabinet, you'll need to grab not just the tablet itself, but a bunch of other components. These are:

Numbered Cintiq Tablet

Pen Case with matching number

Stand

Cable

Power Adapter

HDMI to Thunderbolt Adapter (Mac OSX only)

These three may already be attatched to each other

Check Out

Cintiq tablets and the associated components must be check out by signing the Checkout sheet with your name, the number of your Tablet/Pen combination, and the time and date. The instructor or lab assistant will verify that you have a tablet and pen with the same number and initial that you have checked out the assembly.

Set Up Mirroring

It might be necessary to set up Mirroring to get the tablet. Open the System Preferences from the Apple menu, choose Displays, click on the Arrangement tab and click on the “Mirror Displays” button.

On windows, go to the Displays panel and scroll down to find the mirroring controls.

Assembly

Connect power adapter to cable
Connect HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter (Mac OSX only)

Plug in the power adapter to the outlet strip in the center of the row, behind the computers
Plug in the Thunderbolt adapter and USB plug from the Cintiq cable into the back of the Mac

(On Windows, plug into the HDMI port on the back)

Plug cable into tablet

Optional: Attach stand to back of tablet. There is a tab on the edge of the stand that snaps into the back of the tablet.
Optional: Tilt stand to desired height

Push the tiny on-switch near the cable on the side of the tablet and hold for 3 seconds

Check In

Checked out tablet sets must be check back in with the same instructor or lab assistant you checked it out from. Make sure you return all the components to the cupboard after you show them to the instructor or lab assistant.
