About Tracing

When Tracing Is OK

At least as for as this class goes, I have no objection to bringing an image into Photoshop and using it as source material for your project. The more effort you put into making it your own, the better.

So this is OK:

Traced copy

When Tracing Is Not OK

I don't want you to trace artwork unless you significantly change it to make it your own. Don't just copy and slightly manipulate.

So this is NOT OK:

Traced copy

The lines in the traced copy are identical to the ones in the source image. It's just copied and flipped.

If you're worried about where to draw the line between what's OK and what isn't, just ask me.

Important Rule

If you use an image to trace from, then you must include it as a layer in your assignment file
