Create a colored image using the provided brushes, MART325_Color_Pencils.abr.zip (if using Photoshop) emulate the technique of a drawing done with colored pencils (this will be demoed in class 9)
You can import the MART325_Color_Pencils.abr brushes we use in Photoshop to Procreate, but they don't behave the same as they do in Photoshop, which sort of breaks the whole deal. Instead, I've created two brushes in Procreate that do a much better job then the .abr file does. Download from here (MART325_Color_Pencils.brushset) (.brushset is Procreates native file format for brushes, where .abr is Adobe Photoshop's)
Transfer them to your iPad
Drag the MART325_Color_Pencils.brushset file into the Procreate folder on your iPad
In Procreate, click on the Brush menu, then click on the + sign in the upper right
Brush Studio will open. Click on the Import button in the upper right
The Procreate folder will open. Choose the MART325_Color...hset file
The two brushes will appear in a set at the top of the Brush Library called MART352_ColorPen...
The set contains a Verithin and a Prismacolor brush optimized for working in Procreate.
IMPORTANT: Set the Brush Size of the Prismacolor brush to Size: 10% and the Opacity to 80% with the left side sliders, and set the Verithin Brush Size to 5% and Opacity to 100%
This side by side comparision demonstrates that they are fairly equivolent when the size (5%) and opacity (100%) are set correctly in Procreate. The gridlines in both are the same resolution.
