Fresh fruit. Paris is so developed that nothing is grown there for consumption, everything must be brought in from outside the city. This has been true for generations. Our guide said that the only people she knew who grew anything of their own, even herbs in pots, were from England. It's something Parisians wouldn't even consider doing, since everything they need is available at a local specialty shop.
