Cluny Reliquaries | le Chat Noir | Musée du Quai Branly | Musée Cluny | Musée Louvre | Musée Orsay

Châsse
Allemagne, XVe siecle. Argent partiellement doré.
Anc. collection Soltykoff, acq. 3n 1861 Cl. 3303

Which can be roughly translated as:

Casket Reliquary
Germany, 15th Century. Partially gilded silver.
Ancient (or ancillary) collection of Soltykoff, acquired 1861, Cluny catalog number 3304

Very similar to the previous châsse, but note the difference in the feet. Here, lion's paws, and architectural elements in the previous. Both were probably used to display a long piece of bone from a Saint, such as a humerus, ulna, radius, femur, tibia or fibula. Both reliquaires are about 16 inches long.

More information on reliquaries can be found at Wikipedia and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art site.
