    • Convert Photoshop Layers to Objects and Make Text Editable Where Possible
    • Flatten Photoshop Layers to a Single Image and Preserve Text Appearance
    • Import Hidden Layers

  • File: Place
    • Flattens image
  • Edit: Paste, Drag & Drop
    • Both work, but transparency fails (transparent pixels become solid white). Use Place or open .psd instead
  • File: Export: Paths to Illustrator
    • Only supports paths made with the pen tool

    • Input Device Profiles (cameras, scanners)
    • Monitor Profiles
    • OUtput Device Profiles (desktop printers, printing presses)

Color Profiles

  • Managing color with profiles
    1. Profiles describe color spaces of input device and document
    2. Using profiles' descriptions, the color management system identifies the document's actual colors
    3. The monitor's profile tells the color management system how to translate the document's numeric values to the monitor's color space
    4. Using the output device's profile, the color management system translates the document's numeric values to the color values of the output device so the correct appearance of colors is printed

  • Mostly irrelevant in Photoshop
  • Use Rasterize… in Illustrator Effects
